Coming to hospital
Being diagnosed with cancer is a difficult time for all of our patients and their families. For our international patients we understand that travelling to another country for treatment can add to this stressful time, which is why we’ll do all we can to make your trip as simple as possible. All referrals should be addressed to Abed or the centre and he will guide you through your treatment programme.
The inpatient ward has panoramic views across central London and by night the London Eye can be seen lighting up the skyline. There is plenty to do nearby with the vast shops of Oxford Street just a short walk away and lots of tourist attractions close by. There are many serviced apartments to choose from in the local area for families to stay in and some are just a short walk from the hospital.
Sponsorship or self pay
Some of our international patients are sponsored by their home embassy or health office, others pay for their treatment themselves. Whether you are sponsored or self pay we’ll ensure you receive the best possible care. Abed is available to liaise between you, your family, the hospital’s clinicians and support staff and, where applicable, the sponsoring embassy or military/medical attaché.
We’ll make sure you have all the information and support you need
We have a team of interpreters who will be available to accompany you to hospital appointments, consultations and when the doctor comes to visit you (if you are an inpatient). We also have an experienced team of counsellors and psychotherapists who are available to support patients and their families through their treatment.
