Red cell disorders and blood transfusion in haemoglobinopathies
As a consultant in the UCLH Joint Red Cell Unit, Dr Trompeter shares responsibility for adults and children being treated in inpatient, outpatient and day care settings. She heads the paediatric red cell service and is jointly appointed by the blood service to develop an evidence base for transfusion in haemoglobinopathies. Dr Trompeter is currently part of the team developing the automated exchange transfusion programme.
At HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital, Dr Trompeter offers inpatient and outpatient care for people with red cell disorders (sickle cell, thalassaemia, other inherited anaemias) and iron disorders (genetic, post treatment iron overload).
