Palliative care for teenagers and young adults, complex symptom control, neuropathic pain
Caroline has been a Palliative Medicine consultant since 2005 and the Clinical Lead for the Camden, Islington ELiPSe and UCLH & HCA UK Palliative Care Service since 2007. Her particular areas of interest include the pharmacological management of neuropathic pain, symptom control and communication with teenagers and young adults, and the development of Palliative Care in the acute hospital setting.
Caroline qualifed from St. Bartholomew’s Hospital London Medical School, completed General Practice Training followed by Specialist training in Palliative Medicine in North London. In addition, she completed an MSc in Pharmacology at King’s College London, and in 2004, obtained a PhD as a MRC Clinical Training Fellow in which she explored the molecular mechnisms of neuropathic pain.
She has been the EOLC Lead for UCLPartners and a member of the NHS London EOLC Clinical Leadership Group since 2014.
