Claire Smith's professional bio
As Chief Executive Officer, Claire is committed to taking the HCA UK Joint Ventures division forward as a network of leading private healthcare services. She is responsible for multiple partnership healthcare facilities across the UK, many of which are in collaboration with top teaching hospitals. Claire has been in the healthcare sector for 20 years; in nursing for 13 years before moving to senior management roles. She has been with the HCA Joint Ventures division since its inception in 2006, initially as Clinical Services Manager before progressing through the roles of Chief Operating Officer and Regional Director.
Claire is passionate about delivering the highest level of care to all patients at all times by working with the UK’s leading specialists and through the ongoing development of staff.
Kim Roberts's professional bio
Kim joined HCA UK in 2014 from the NHS, having worked alongside the HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital team since the facility opened. As Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, Kim oversees all nursing and operational aspects of HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital, as well as identifying new opportunities to expand and develop our existing services. Kim has over 25 years of healthcare experience, with a specialist interest in malignant haematology for the past 20 years.
Oliver Randell 's professional bio
Oliver joined the HCA UK Joint Ventures division in October 2015. Oliver has been in the finance sector for 13 years and previously worked as Commercial Finance Manager at BMI healthcare. Oliver oversees all financial aspects of our joint venture facilities.

Heidi Tolchard's professional bio
Heidi is an experienced oncology nurse with specialist experience in haematology and bone marrow transplants. Heidi initially joined our unit in 2008 and in July 2016 became the clinical services manager, responsible for all clinical matters on the unit. She oversees all clinical activity, service line development and the day to day running of the unit.
Catherine Jackson's professional bio
Catherine has been with HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital since 2008 and matron since 2012. As the most senior nurse, she is responsible for day to day care and staffing on the ward. She has a great deal of experience within nursing and oncology and haematology in particular. Catherine is passionate about high quality patient care.
Prof Anthony Goldstone CBE's professional bio
Prof Goldstone joined University College Hospital as a haematology consultant in 1976 and has held the roles of Clinical Director and Medical Director. He has been Clinical Director of HCA Healthcare UK at University College Hospital since it formed in 2006 and was awarded a CBE for services to medicine in June 2008.
Prof Goldstone is one of the world’s top haematologists with particular interest in haemato-oncology and stem cell transplantation. He set up the NHS leukaemia and transplant service at UCLH and pioneered national randomised trials for acute leukaemia.
Prof Stephen Mackinnon's professional bio
Prof Mackinnon leads the bone marrow programme at UCL and performs stem cell transplants for treatment of multiple sclerosis as well as haematological conditions. His research focuses on adoptive immunotherapy and immune reconstitution following allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and he sees patients with all types of haematological cancer.
Dr Chris McNamara's professional bio
Dr McNamara has been involved in the development of treatment guidelines for haematology patients nationally with the British Committee for Standardisation in Haematology, and internationally for the European Society of Medical Oncology.
He is interested in all types of haematology and specialises in lymphoma. He performs stem cell transplantation, including autologous transplants for multiple sclerosis.
